Pregnancy
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 ("Title IX") prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex, including pregnancy and related conditions in educational programs and activities that receive federal funding. Students and employees who are pregnant or have related conditions are protected by Title IX, in addition to other applicable federal and state laws.
Students
The Division of Student Life oversees responsibility for pregnancy and parenting support and protection for students, in alignment with Iowa Code 261.
Students who are pregnant or are experiencing related conditions can contact the Division of Student Life for assistance.

Lactation Space Access
UNI provides students and employees with access to lactation spaces that are functional, appropriate, and safe. Information on the location of lactation spaces, including how to access the spaces is available through Human Resource Services.
Reporting a Concern
If an individual feels their pregnancy or related conditions rights have been violated, they may consult with the Office of Civil Rights Compliance and/or utilize the procedures outlined in Policy 13.02 Discrimination, Harassment, and Sexual Misconduct.
