Prevention & Education

Programs, projects and events are important to increase awareness about forms of discrimination and harassment including sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, and sexual harassment and other conduct based on protected characteristics. 

Working toward the ultimate goal of ending these issues at UNI, the following education initiatives are focused on empowering UNI's community members.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month 2025

Healthy relationships have a foundation of respect. To promote healthy dating behaviors and highlight local organizations that support individuals experiencing domestic violence, the Office of Civil Rights Compliance has planned the following events for the month of October. 

  • October 8th, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm: Information Tabling in Maucker Union
  • October 14th, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Information Tabling in Maucker Union
  • October 16th, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm: Art of C.H.A.N.G.E. Painting Program, Maucker Union
  • October 21st, 10:30 am - 11:30 pm: Domestic Violence Awareness Resource Fair, Maucker Union
  • October 23rd, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Information Tabling in Maucker Union
  • October 24th, 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm: CAB After Dark: Fall Fest, Maucker Union
  • October 30th, 11:30 am - 1:30 pm: Self Care Coloring, Maucker Union
